Good Eating World! I’m continuing on with my posts about the “Best ‘little-known’ places to eat in Belize.” This week it’s the Stan Creek District Restaurants I’m covering. If your favorite restaurant in the area is not on the list, please be sure to leave us a comment below or on our Facebook page with your favorite Restaurants in Belize, in the Stann Creek District, Belize.

Again, I need to thank a few people for their input and suggestions, so first the thanks go to: Wendy Burkett, Sam McAm, and Marc Auger. If I’ve missed any one, please forgive me, there were so many responses with so many great restaurant suggestions from so many places in Belize, it’s hard to cover them all!

Belizean Fries with GravyFirst, Ivy’s Restaurant in Dangriga. “Her prices are Excellent and Everyone loves her chicken! She deep fries it in a habanero infused oil. Ivy is from China so also serves Chinese food. My fave is a shrimp or chicken stir fry with cashews. I think she just calls it Cashew chicken? And on top of all of the delicious, cost effective meals, Ivy is a wonderful person! My husband loves her Steak Sauce (gravy) over fries. (It’s not on the menu! She thinks my husband has strange ideas.) Ivy is a good sport and puts up with him. She is a genuinely kind, good hearted person.“ – Not strange at all, my husband loves gravy over fries too!

Next let’s take a trip down south a little to Innies Restaurant in Hopkins. “Marva’s on the beach; this is how damned good her hudut is. Probably the best or at least memorable meal I had in Belize. Facing the beach at the drumming centre; down to the right or towards town. She will even open up for you if closed (just go to her house and call out) and the menu varies by what fish she has that day. Her sister’s onion relish is to die for.”

There’s also the Pickled Parrot Bar & Grill in Placencia: “The prices are very reasonable and the food is good! Plus they have 2 great dogs who run around and are very friendly. Pickled Parrot is just one of those places were it’s easy to feel comfortable, and I’ll certainly be back next time I’m in Placencia.

Finally, you can’t go wrong with Omar’s Restaurant in Placencia “they will take you out fishing
and then cook up your fish for lunch. Best freshest fish lunch in Belize. Bring your own beer.”

“We happened upon his place and he was closed but he and his family still fixed us up with a fantastic breakfast on our 2nd morning in Belize. We came back later and watched the independence day parade from his open-air deck.“
